Considered one of the best forwards of all time, James Worthy got his start at the University of North Carolina. Worthy was a standout player for UNC and helped them win the 1982 National Championship alongside then freshmen Michael Jordan. The following year he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the #1 Overall Pick and would go on to play a key role in their 1985, 1987, and 1988 NBA Championships.
Worthy was a 7-time All-Star who earned the nickname Big Game James for his ability to come up big in some of the Lakers most important games. This was never more apparent than is his incredible 36 point, 16 rebound, and 10 assist output in the decisive Game 7 of the 1988 Finals, earning him the Finals MVP Award. Following his stellar career, Worthy was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team and was a 1st ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 2003.
