An excellent shortstop that is also dangerous on the base paths, Rafael Furcal got the call up to the Majors in 2000 as a member of the Atlanta Braves. Furcal went on to have a stellar season during which he stole 40 bases and was named the National League Rookie of the Year. He also used the opportunity to establish himself as the Braves starting shortstop and would remain in that position for the remainder of his tenure with the team.
During that time Furcal developed into one of the best base stealers in the game and was a sparkplug at the top of the Braves line-up. He stole at least 22 bases every year with the team and also consistently scored around 100 runs or more. Armed with an extremely strong arm, Furcal was also a cornerstone of the team defensively.
Following several strong years with the Braves, Furcal was acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers prior to the 2006 season. He went on to have one of his best years to date, batting .300 with 63 RBIs and 37 stolen bases and is being counted on to continue to produce at the top of their line-up as he did year in and year out with the Braves.
This Unframed 8x10 Los Angeles Dodgers Photo of Furcal is signed by Furcal and comes with a BC Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
