A standout All-American at the University of Michigan, Amani Toomer was selected in the 2nd Round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Toomer has been a consistent and productve wideout for the team ever since. He holds the team records for receptions in a season and overall reception yardage. Toomer highlighted a strong 2005 campaign with a game-winning, last second catch against the Denver Broncos.
He then played an integral role in the Giants run to the Super Bowl during the 2007 season when he collected 59 receptions for 760 yarrds. Toomer picked up his play in the playoffs, hauling in two touchdowns in the team's victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round. His strong performance continued in the Super Bowl when he led the team with 6 receptions for 84 yards, helping to lead the Giants in their historic win over the Patriots.
