Currently the manager of the Washington Nationals, Frank Robinson enjoyed a long and successful stint on the field before ever becoming a manager off of it. Spending his 21 year Major League career with the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles, Robinson will forever be remembered as one of the greatest outfielders in the game.
During his playing career, he became the first player to earn MVP Awards in both the National and American leagues and won the Triple Crown in 1966 as a member of the Orioles when he led the American Leage with a .316 batting batting average, 49 home runs and 122 runs batted in. Robinson also helped lead the Orioles to the World Series Championship that year, earning WS MVP Honors in the process.
He would go on to help lead the Orioles to another World Series Championship in 1970. Robinson finished his illustrious career with a .294 batting average, 586 homeruns, and 1,812 RBI and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
