Doug Drabek spent over a decade in the Majors as a solid starting pitcher, making his debut with the New York Yankees in 1986. Drabek was then traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates before the start of the '87 season and would go on to enjoy the best years of his Major League career with the team.
Drabek consistently finished in the top 10 in ERA and innings pitched, regularly throwing over 230 innings per season. His best year came in 1990 when he went 22-6 with a 2.76 ERA en route to winning the National League Cy Young Award. Drabek finished his career with over 150 wins and over 1,500 strikeouts.
His son Kyle Drabek, also a promising pitcher, was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 18th overall pick in the 2006 First Year Player Draft and looks to play a key piece in the future of the franchise.
This MLB Baseball Inscribed "90 NL CY" by Doug is signed by both Kyle and Doug Drabek and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
