After starring in Taiwan for several years, Chien-Ming Wang got the call up to the New York Yankees in 2005 and has since become a national hero is his home country, not to mention an extremly effective and productive Major League Pitcher. With an above average fastball and at times unhittable sinker, Wang quickly acclimated his game to the U.S. and became a key starter in the Yankees rotation.

In 2006, his first full year in the Majors, Wang was stellar, arguably establishing himself as the Yankees best pitcher. He finished the season with a 19-6 record (ranking him 2nd in the AL in wins) and an ERA of 3.63.
