Martin Biron was drafted in the 1st Round of the 1995 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres and would make his debut with the team during the 1995-96 season. After seeing limited time during his first several seasons, Biron began to see increased playing time in the 1999-00 season and was the team's full-time starter in 2001-02. He responded by winning 31 games and posting an impressive 2.22 GAA. Despite Biron's success as a starter, he began to see less time with the emergence of Ryan Miller and finally requested a trade. His wishes were met and Biron was sent to the Philadelphia Flyers and the end of the 2006-07 season.
Envisioning Biron as a starter for a much improved team, the Flyers signed the goalie to a 2-year deal prior to the start of the 2007 season. With a career save percentage over .900 and a career GAA that hovers around 2.50, the Flyers are looking for Biron to backstop them back to the Playoffs.
