| Brandon Jacobs was a standout at Southern Illinois, prompting the New York Giants to select him in the 4th Round of the 2005 NFL Draft. This 6'4", 260 lb. running back is a powerful runner and served as a perfect compliment to the shifty Tiki Barber.
The Giants immediately inserted him into the lineup and he has already payed dividends in short yardage situations and has showed an overwhelming ability to run between the tackles. In his sophomore season, Jacobs has become an even bigger piece of the Giants dangerous offense and, coupled with Tiki Barber, helped form one of the league's most productive and imposing backfields.
Now, with the retirement of Barber, Jacobs is being counted on to pick up the slack and will be a featured back for the team. A rare combination of size and quickness for a running back, Jacobs looks to have all the tools to be a huge part of the teams' success for years to come.
Jacobs also proved he could handle the load in his first year as the team's featured back, playing an instrumental role in helping the team win Super Bowl XLII.
