A two-time Butkus Award nominee at the University of Miami, Jonathan Vilma used his speed, athleticism, and knowledge of the game to become one of the best linebackers in the nation. His hard work paid off as he was the first linebacker taken, and 14th overall pick, by the New York Jets in the 2004 NFL Draft.
He immediately earned the starting position at middle linebacker and finished second on the team with 118 tackles, in addition to making 3 interceptions and recording 2 sacks. His stellar play led to Vilma being named The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press. He followed his rookie season up with a strong sophomore year, earning a trip to the Pro Bowl in the process.
This Framed 8x10 New York Jets Photo of Vilma running in his first NFL TD is signed by Vilma and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
