| A relative unknown when he entered the league, Kimmo Timonen was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1993 NHL Draft. After spending several years playing in Finland, Timonen would return to the NHL for the 1998-99 season with the Nashville Predators and would go on the become a mainstay on the blue line for the franchise. While with the Predators, Timonen was named the teams's captain and was twice selected an All-Star, establishing himself as one of the top defensemen in the league. He posted one of his best years in 2006-07 when he recorded 42 assists and 55 points overall, giving him back to back 50 point seasons.
Desperate for help along the blue line, the Philadelphia Flyers acquired Timonen prior to the start of the 2007-08 season and signed him to a lengthy contract. Combining his leadership and offensive talent with his defensive stability and skill, Timonen proved to be exactly what the team was looking for and quickly became one of the team's top defensemen. The Flyers are now counting on Timonen to help them to continue to make the adjustment into the newer, faster NHL, while helping them to rise back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
This Framed 8x10 Philadelphia Flyers Photo is signed by Timonen and comes with a BC Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
