| Simon Gagne was drafted 22nd overall in the 1998 Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. He made his NHL debut one season later in 1999-2000 and finished second in rookie goal-scoring with 20 goals. That year he was a All-Rookie Team forward and helped the Flyers win the Atlantic Division title. In 2000-01, Simon led the Flyers with a +24 plus/minus rating as the team cracked the 100-point mark for the second straight year. In 69 games, he scored 27 goals and 59 points. Also in 2000-01 he made All-Star Game, and played on a line with Mario Lemieux and Brett Hull. In 2001-02, Simon led the Flyers with 33 goals and finished second with 66 points. He finished tied for third in the league (second on the team) with a +31 plus/minus rating as the Flyers won the Atlantic Division title. This year, Gagne is off to a torrid start, and, paired with playmaker Peter Forsberg, has formed one of the most productive and lethal lines in the league.
