In 2006, his first full year in the Majors, Freddy Sanchez has proved to be a huge bright spot for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  As their starting 3rd baseman, Sanchez has exhibited stellar glovework and exceptional production at the plate.  While batting well above .300 and remaining at or near the top of the National League BA leaders, Sanchez has shown he is a complete player and was named to his first All-Star game in 2006. 

With a bright future ahead of him, Sanchez looks to play a key role in helping to turn around the Pirates franchise.
