| After a starring role as a linebacker at North Carolina State, Bill Cowher took his tenacious, hard-nosed play to the NFL where he spent several years as a player. He quickly moved on to coaching, taking his fiery personality with him and finding a job as Special Teams Coordinator for the Browns under Marty Schottenheimer at the young age of 28. He then followed Schottenheimer to the Kansas City Chiefs where he became the Defensive Coordinator. Cowher signed on as the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach in 1992 and in 1995, at age 38, became the youngest head coach to lead his team to the Super Bowl. He has since become a coaching icon in Pittsburgh and is only the second coach in NFL history to lead his team to the playoffs in each of his first six seasons as head coach, as well as one of only six coaches in NFL history to claim at least seven division titles. In 2006, Cowher capped off his stellar coaching career by capturing the one thing he had been missing, a Super Bowl title, by leading his Steelers to a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL. This framed 8x10 photo of Cowher pacing the sidelines in the snow is signed by Cowher and comes with a BC Sports Certificate of Authenticity. |
