In 2004, Peyton Manning compiled one of the best seasons ever by a quarterback throwing for 4,557 yards, 49 TDs and finishing with a 121.1 passer rating. He earned the 5th of what is becoming his perennial Pro Bowl honors and won the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player honors for the second consecutive season (sharing honors in 2003 with QB-Steve McNair).
Manning set the NFL record for touchdown passes with 49, snapping Dan Marino's long-standing 1984 mark of 48. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league and continues to improve with each season, consistently leading his team to the playoffs while putting up incredible offensive numbers.
Manning finally got over the hump following the 2006 season, when he lead his Colts to a 29-17 win over the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Manning was named the game's MVP after throwing for over 200 yards and a touchdown.
