| Simply put, Jerry Rice is the greatest wide receiver of all time. A 1st Rd. pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 1985, Rice began to come into his own in only his 2nd year in the league. In 1987, his 3rd full season, Rice set the NFL record for TD receptions in a season with 22, despite the fact that the season was shortened due to a player's strike.
From there Rice never looked back, helping to lead the 49ers to 3 Super Bowl victories, while taking home the MVP Award in Super Bowl XXIII. The Mississippi Valley State receiver holds virtually every significant career record for NFL receivers, including receptions, yards receiving, yards from scrimmage, all-purpose yards, touchdown receptions and consecutive games with at least one catch, which ended at an astounding 274 games in September 2004.
With an MVP and 13 Pro Bowls under his belt, Rice has forever left his mark on the NFL and its record books. Salary cap restrictions forced the Niners to let Rice go in 2001 after 17 seasons with the team and he was subsequently picked up by the Oakland Raiders. After several successful years with the Raiders, Rice was traded to the Seattle Seahawks and then spent a short stint as a member of the Denver Broncos before retiring as a 49er.
This San Francisco 49ers Jersey Inscribed SB XXIII MVP is signed by Rice and comes with a BC Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
