Stan 'the Man' Musial spent the vast majority of his Major League career starring for the St. Louis Cardinals and will be forever remembered as one of the game's best and most consistent hitters, evidenced by his .331 career batting average.
Musial played over 1,000 games in the outfield and over 1,000 games at first base and was a model of consistency and production wherever he played. During his career he was selected to an astounding 24 All-Star games and three times was the league's MVP. In addition to his individual accolodaes, Musial was also a member of three World Series Championship teams. All in all, at the time of his retirement in 1963, Musial held 17 major league, 29 National League, and 9 All-Star game records.
With over 3,600 career hits, 475 home runs, and 1,951 RBI, Musial was a lock for the Baseball Hall of Fame and was enshrined in 1967.
