Jim Craig starred as the goalie of the 1980 U. S. hockey team that won the gold medal at the games in Lake Placid. His 39 saves kept the team in the semi-final game against Russia, which finally turned into a 4-3 U. S. victory on two third-period goals and has forever become enshrined in American history as one of the greatest sports upsets ever. 

The U.S. team would then finish its unprecedented run by taking home the gold medal.
