A highly touted 2nd baseman, Howie Kendrick joined the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim franchise in 2002 when the team drafted him in the 10th round.  Kendrick excelled in the Minors, consistenly batting in the mid to high .300's and was widely rated as one of the top players in all of Minor League Baseball.  He finally got the call-up to the Majors in the 2006 and after overcoming some offensive struggles, proved he belonged.

Kendrick would go on to post a 16-game hitting streak during his rookie season and has become one of the Angels' most promising and talented young players.  Following the departure of Adam Kennedy, Kendrick became the team's starting 2nd baseman in 2007 and continued to produce at a high level.  With a combination of stellar offense and strong defense, Kendrick looks to be a central part of the Angels franchise for years to come.
