After beginning his career as a 3rd baseman for the Cleveland Indians, Jim Thome was moved to 1st base where he established himself as one of the elite power hitters in the game. He smashed 49 homers for Cleveland in 2001, that included a mammoth 511 foot shot, and then belted a career high 52 in 2002.

He was picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2003 and continued his prolific homerun hitting, despite the nay-saying of numerous critics. He launched 47 in 2003 and then followed that up with 42 homers in 2004, during which he joined Major League Baseball's 400HR Club. Thome is a 6-time All-Star and a model citizen off the field, helping him to become one of the most popular and respected players in the game. 

He has also been a valuable addition to the White Sox, once again displaying why he is one of the most potent and productive offensive forces in the League, earning an All-Star appearance in his first year with the team.
