| Gary Roberts made his NHL debut in 1986 after he was taken by the Calgary Flames with the 12th overall pick in the 1984 draft and has since spent two decades as a physical and talented winger in the NHL. Roberts spent the first 10 years of his career with the Flames and put up exceptional numbers, including a 53 goal, 90 point season in 1991-92. He was also a key component of the Flames team that took home the 1989 Stanley Cup Championship.
After overcoming neck injuries during the middle of his career that almost forced Roberts to retire, he made an unexpected return to the NHL and was signed by the Carolina Hurricanes. He would go on to spend several productive seasons with the Canes and was then signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Roberts again proved to be one of the team's most consistent and productive forwards and would record 40 points in just 50 playoff games with the team.
Following the lockout, Roberts was signed by the Florida Panthers and then was acquired by the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2006-07 season. Bringing over 800 career points to the table, Roberts brought a veteran presence to the young and talented Penguins team and helped lead them to the Playoffs. The 3-time All-Star was then re-signed for the 2007-08 season and has become an experienced cornerstone for a Penguins team that is once again establishing itself as one of the league's elite teams.
This Toronto Maple Leafs Puck is signed by Roberts and comes with a BC Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
