Drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 3rd Round of the 2006 NFL Draft, the team had lofty expectations for Chris Gocong after his record-setting collegiate career at Cal Poly. It was there that Gocong set a Division 1-AA record with 23.5 sacks in one season and led the nation with 31 tackles for loss, ultimately finishing his career with an NCAA-record 42 sacks. Despite doing most of his damage from the defensive end position in college, the Eagles moved Gocong to outside linebacker, intrigued by his rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism.
