A fearless enforcer, Riley Cote is widely considered one of the tougest players the NHL has to offer. He went undrafted, but used his tireless work ethic and dedication to eventually earn a spot with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He ended up being assigned to the minors and eventually was signed by the Philadelphia Flyers minor league affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. Cote instantly became a fan favorite and helped the Phantoms win the AHL Championship, racking up a team-high 280 penalty minutes along the way. Cote would spend several more years with the Phantoms before getting the call up to the Flyers towards the end of the 2006-07 season. He continued to impress coaches during the offseason and became a regular on the 2007-08 team.
